About Peperomia obtusifolia. Peperomia obtusifolia, the baby rubber plant, is a popular houseplant that is easy to care for. The plants have fleshy spoon-shaped, glossy, oval leaves which store water and make the plant succulent. Baby rubber plants have tail-like, especially decorative inflorescences. The plants are slow-growing and remain compact. They can tolerate lower light levels, but prefer medium light. Why Grow Peperomia obtusifolia.
